The most common side effects following dermal filler normally occur immediately post treatment and include swelling, bruising, redness & tenderness. These normally disappear within a few days post treatment. All dermal fillers take up to four weeks to settle, where you will be reviewed by your Cosmetic Injector to assess the results.
It is recommended to avoid any strenuous activity and heavy alcohol intake 24 hours prior to your appointment as these can increase the risk of inflammation and bruising. All injectable treatments carry the risk of bruising and swelling however to reduce this risk, please avoid the following; taking any anti-inflammatories, fish oil, aspirin, herbal remedies, ginseng, St Johnโs Wort etc.ย
It is recommended you avoid international travel for 2 weeks post-treatment. The prolonged cabin air pressure can cause unpredictable swelling, bruising & undesired treatment outcomes.
